March! March! March!

Image
I love the month of March. The sun starts to come out. The flowers start to bloom(or be planted). My birthday rolls around. March is lovely. Also, in case you were wondering (which I know you were) I went to the Doctor's the other day for a check-up, you know, check the blood, the ears, the throat, the yada yada yada and when I stepped on the weight scale I almost giggled. I LOST ALL MY LONDON FAT!!! I usually don't talk about girly things like weight, but I was just so giddy to be back to my slim jim self. Haha. London was full of Carbs. Paris was full of desserts. Weight gain was inevitable. A small price to pay for the adventures of a lifetime and now I have all the sweet memories and I lost my unwanted "souvenirs." Also, another update that you probably WERE wondering about. I'm graduating in 9 MONTHS!!! Babies are born in that time! (I'm sorry! Nothing else cool happens in 9 months, it's the only comparison I could think of.) I'm uber excited and ...

Warning: Reading this might be the biggest waste of your time ever.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! So last night I was so very excited to wear green today. Then...I forgot. I only got pinched once because I was at work and therefore had no choice but to wear a pink bowling shirt, but it made me sad. So when I got home I put on a shamrock green shirt, striped green pajamas, and green earrings. I feel much better now. I've had a mildly fun week, so I'm gonna write about it. Sorry if you find it boring (or have already heard me tell you these stories): 1. Sunday- My 21st birthday. Yipee! I slept in, ate waffles with my roommate, ate butterfinger pie with my roommate, went to stake conference, and made dinner with some friends. It was fun! 2. Monday-...Well Mondays are my arch enemy so we'll just skip this day. 3. Tuesday-ASTHMA CHECK UP! Dun dun dun!(cue loud scary music) First I had to blow into this tube thing until my poor little lungs were wrung out. Hard to do. Then I had to go run around until my asthma symptoms kicked in and I felt like I...

Philosophy Shower

So this morning while taking a shower, since I'm on vacation , I didn't have any to-do's to go over so I took what I call a " Philosophy Shower " where I think about....philosophical life things. Today I thought about my priorities in life. Lately I've been thinking about my approaching Graduation ..... And basically life after graduation is a blank page ...... Will I go on a mission? Will I move back to New Mexico? Will I travel? Will I be married? Where will I work? So many "Will I?" questions that I can't answer right now. It's a tadpole -sized problem since I have a year to figure all this out, but I like to plan WAY ahead of time. Anywho back to my Philosophy Shower . Then a thought came to my mind. I asked myself: "What are my top priorities in life?" "Well, first is to work toward perfection and gain exaltation ." "Yep, yep. Good answer. What's my second priority?" "To help others work ...

Thank you Mr. President

Thank you Mr. President..... No not that one. The old one. Yep, that's him. Thank you George for having a birthday that inspired a holiday weekend. =) Okay. Here is the layout of my weekend. FRIDAY- Class canceled. SATURDAY-Weekend SUNDAY-Weekend MONDAY-No School BYU does this weird thing where when we have a day off like President's Day, you go to your Monday classes on Tuesday. BUT I don't have any classes Monday or Wednesday So I get: TUESDAY-No School WEDNESDAY- No School Since I have a 6 day weekend, I'm not going to let it go to waste. I had many plans. Dates. Working. St. George maybe. Homework. But then I remembered that I have an amazing family in the Land of Enchantment(I'm not being cheesy, that's the state nickname) and I miss them A LOT. So I opened my wallet, pulled out some cash, and said "I' ...

Your tombstone can say whatever you want it to say

Greetings! It is the last day of January and I wanted to sum up my first month of 2010. I did the following: 1. Played Sudoku at work while children screamed "I want candy!" and went running around the bowling alley 2. Took a zillion pictures of my bamboo plant (Bambi) trying to figure out the settings on my new camera 3. Discovered I have Dermotographism (don't worry, I'll make a post about this) and decided I'll never be bored in church again...not that I get bored in a BYU Student ward.... 4. Spent over8 hours at Borders/Barnes and Noble bookstores because....I like books and discovered if you sit on the floor and take notes, you don't have to buy every book! 5. Dreamt about snakes, volcanoes and the occasional EMT. 6. Wrote the hardest paper I've ever written in my college career, in french, and passed it 7. Went to bed before 9:30pm 3 nights in a row. 8. Played my gameboy while waiting in line at Discount tires, making all the little children jealous...

The Westcoast MaryLand

I'm not that interesting and I'm easily amused. Life is great. This is a step-by-step guidebook to being a Mary. Enjoy. Step #1: work at a Bowling Alley and dance on the lanes (don't try this or I will have to kick you out) Step #2: Be friends with a Stephanie. She paints, she sings, she juggles. Pretty much awesome. Step #3: Learn how to fix pinsetters without getting eaten(refer to disclaimer of step #1) Step #4: Stare at homeless pets for hours at the mall Step #5: Ride a giant ant to...everywhere Step #6: Attend Pacman school Step #7: Live in a shell Step #8: Be friends with echinoderms. They are great listeners...until the crawl away. Step #9: Admire all things PURPLE. Step #10: Be friends with a Carol. She provides you with parking passes among numerous other friend benefits. Step #11: Be friends with a Kyle. He has a house. Nuf said. Step #12: Learn to blend into dark backgrounds ...

Cause oh baby it's CHRISTMAS all over again

Hmmm....I decided to write again. Life after London is feeling pretty dull so finding something worthy of writing about is hard. All I do is school work school work sleep eat sleep eat DIE! But I figured if I want to enjoy my life as much as I did in England. I have to enjoy the little moments. So. First, I've met some more famous people. 2 Christmas Concerts. David Archuleta's and Kurt Bestor's. Da vid Archuleta: And a really cool drummer named Eric Valentine: Hooray for claims to fame! Hahaha. Anywho. Moving on. So the stories behind these encounters are kind of fun. Both in SLC in the same building in the same room on very different nights. I attended the David Archuleta concert with my roommate whose Dad was performing with David so we got good seats(about the 4th row back) and backstage passes. Woohoo!! What I love about David is not his look or his amazing voice or his being Mormon or famous even. I love that after American Idol and everything else he's done. He...
